Fascinating article that I think the observations can be applied to education, church and events in general.  Here is a segment:

Key Takeaway #2

High school students are sitting passively and listening during approximately 90 percent of their classes.

Obviously I was only shadowing for two days, but in follow-up interviews with both of my host students, they assured me that the classes I experienced were fairly typical.

Meet Jacob Lucas. After interning for us for several months, he’s just moved part-time! I asked Jacob to share a little about himself…

“I am Jacob Lucas, I am a senior in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy at Larkin High School. I am predominantly a photographer and painter, however, I am branching out into sculpture, graphic design, and various digital arts. I began interning for Mark at Imago in January of 2014 and it has been such an amazing experience. So far I have focused mainly on video work; however, I am very excited to advance with Mark into design work as that is one of the things I hope to explore in college and as a career option. I am grateful for this opportunity because it allows me to have firsthand experience in a professional atmosphere prior to college, an opportunity that many young artists don’t have.”

Great thoughts about how creative ideas happen. We must collaborate.
Love this quote:

“creativity does not happen inside a person’s head, but in the interaction between a person’s thoughts and a socio-cultural context.”

Stop Multitasking, Start Monotasking

Posted in about imago on 07/23/2014 by mark novelli

For me productivity means more time with my family and more time to recharge. It also means the opportunity for my business to grow. So, I love to read articles and watch videos about how to be more productive. The common theme I seem to be finding is to eliminate distractions – don;t jump around from task to task.

So when I read this:

Multitasking causes a greater decrease in IQ than smoking pot or losing a night’s sleep, found a recent study by the Institute of Psychiatry at the University of London.

It surprised me, but did not shock me. This is a great, short article, worth a few minutes of your time. READ IT HERE.
